Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Still Saul is a free Bible companion built for men. These terms are straightforward because the app is straightforward. Read them once. They say what they mean.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Still Saul — whether through stillsaul.com or as an installed progressive web app — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use the app. Your continued use of Still Saul constitutes ongoing acceptance of these terms and any future updates to them.

Description of Service

Still Saul is a personal Bible companion web application. It provides guided Bible reading roads, daily verse content, personal reflection tools, a struggle journal, and related devotional features designed for men who want to engage seriously with Scripture.

Still Saul is provided free of charge. There are no premium tiers, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. The service is funded by its creator and offered as a gift to the men who use it.

Eligibility

Still Saul is intended for men aged 13 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age.

If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian before using the app.

Still Saul is designed primarily for adult men. The content, tone, and focus of the app reflect that audience.

User Accounts

Still Saul uses Google Sign-In as its sole authentication method. By signing in, you authorise Still Saul to receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account for the purpose of creating and maintaining your personal reading profile.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. Still Saul has no access to and cannot reset your Google password.

You may delete your Still Saul account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@stillsaul.com. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Acceptable Use

You may use Still Saul only for its intended purpose: personal Bible reading, reflection, and devotional engagement.

You agree not to:

Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its underlying infrastructure.

Use the app in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair its operation.

Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app for commercial purposes.

Use the app to distribute spam, malware, or any unlawful content.

Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

Intellectual Property

The Still Saul name, logo, design system, app structure, written content, and all original creative elements are the intellectual property of Coert Paul van Rensburg, trading as Creative Pixels.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Still Saul's original content without express written permission.

Personal, non-commercial sharing — such as screenshotting a verse card to send to a friend — is welcomed and encouraged.

Your Content

Anything you write within Still Saul — journal entries, reflection responses, profile answers — belongs to you. Still Saul does not claim ownership of your personal content.

Your content is stored securely in Firebase Firestore and is visible only to you. It is never shared with other users, used in marketing, or analysed for advertising.

You grant Still Saul a limited licence to store and retrieve your content solely for the purpose of delivering the service to you. This licence ends when your account is deleted.

Bible and Scripture Content

Bible verses and passages displayed in Still Saul are drawn from public domain translations and licensed sources. Scripture references are attributed where required by the relevant translation licence.

Still Saul does not claim authorship of any Scripture. The Word of God is not ours to own.

Devotional commentary, reading road descriptions, and curated verse selections are original content by Still Saul and are subject to the intellectual property terms above.

Third-Party Services

Still Saul uses the following third-party services to operate:

Google Firebase — for authentication, data storage, and hosting. Firebase is subject to Google's own terms of service and privacy policies.

Google Fonts — for typography, loaded via Google's CDN.

YouTube — for any embedded video content accessed via the app or stillsaul.com.

Still Saul is not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

Availability and Updates

Still Saul is provided on an as-available basis. While we aim for consistent availability, we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.

We may update, modify, or add features to Still Saul at any time without prior notice. We may also temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.

Still Saul is a living project. Features may be added, changed, or removed as the app grows. We will always prioritise the reading experience above everything else.

Disclaimers

Still Saul is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Still Saul is a Bible companion tool, not a substitute for pastoral care, professional counselling, or spiritual direction. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a pastor, counsellor, or crisis line.

We do not warrant that the app will meet your specific spiritual needs, that results from using it will be accurate or reliable, or that any defects in the app will be corrected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Still Saul and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app.

In no event shall Still Saul's total liability to you for any damages exceed the amount you have paid to use the service. Since Still Saul is free, that amount is zero.

This limitation applies regardless of the basis of the claim — whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise — even if Still Saul has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page.

Continued use of Still Saul after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

If a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users — for example, through a notice within the app.
