Still Saul is a personal Bible companion web app built and maintained by Coert Paul van Rensburg, operating under Creative Pixels, based in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

What We Collect
Still Saul collects only the minimum information needed to give you a personal reading experience.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. This is used only to create and identify your personal profile within the app.
The following personal data is stored securely in Firebase Firestore, visible only to you:
Your reading progress — which Bible chapters you have read and when.
Your personal reflections — anything you write in the struggle journal, profile questions, or reflection prompts.
Your reading preferences — which Bible translation you use and any notification settings you configure.
Your active reading road — which guided reading path you are currently following.
No data beyond what is listed above is collected.
What We Do Not Collect
Still Saul does not collect, store, or process:
Your precise location.
Your contacts or address book.
Your device identifiers beyond what Firebase requires for authentication.
Any financial information — Still Saul is free and will always remain free.
Any behavioural data for advertising purposes.
We do not run advertisements of any kind. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with any third party for any purpose.
How Your Data Is Stored
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase — specifically Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.
Firebase is a Google platform that provides enterprise-grade security and encryption. Your personal data is stored in Firestore databases protected by security rules that ensure only you can read or write your own data. No other user or administrator can access your personal reflections, reading progress, or journal entries.
Firebase Authentication handles your Google Sign-In securely. We never see or store your Google password.

Google Sign-In
Still Saul uses Google Sign-In as the sole method of authentication. This means:
You do not create a separate password for Still Saul. Your Google account credentials are never shared with or stored by Still Saul.
Google Sign-In is used purely for security — to verify your identity and ensure your personal reading data is connected only to you.
We request only the minimum Google account permissions needed: your name, email address, and profile photo.
We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google services.
Embedded Content and Social Links
Still Saul may include the following third-party content:
YouTube videos embedded within the app or on the stillsaul.com website. When you watch an embedded YouTube video, YouTube may collect data in accordance with their own privacy policy, which can be found at youtube.com/privacy
Links to Still Saul social media pages on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Visiting these platforms is subject to their respective privacy policies.
We have no control over data collected by third-party platforms when you interact with their content. We do not receive or store any data from these interactions.
Notifications
If you choose to enable reading reminders in your profile settings, Still Saul may send you push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Notifications are entirely optional. You can enable or disable them at any time in your profile settings within the app.
Notification content consists only of gentle reminders to return to your reading. No personal data is included in notifications. No notification data is shared with third parties.
Your Rights
You have full control over your data at all times:
You may delete your Still Saul account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@stillsaul.com. We will permanently delete all your personal data within 30 days of request.
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you at any time by contacting us at hello@stillsaul.com
You may update your profile information at any time from within the app.
If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Children
Still Saul is intended for adult men. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Still Saul, please contact us at hello@stillsaul.com and we will delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page.
Continued use of Still Saul after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
We will never introduce advertising, data selling, or paid features without clear and prominent notice.
